Closing the Gap
Westminster City Council has made a commitment to closing the Gender and Race inequity in pay across our services. A task force has been established and has formed a number of recommendations for Departments to consider:

Levelling up of salaries

Inclusive recruitment panels

Develop a tailored workforce planning approach

Monitor appointment salaries at recruitment and internal moves for equity

Appoint for value and not history

Development plans to aid career progression

Build in career development opportunities (such as shadowing and acting up opportunities as acareer pathway)

Use exit feedbacks alongside ‘Our Voice’ survey taking action where necessary
